Measuring Angles
Learning Intention: Review knowledge of how to measure angles.
Success Criteria:
“Is it obtuse? Then it is should be greater than 90ᵒ but less than 180ᵒ”
Success Criteria:
- Place the cross of the protractor at the vertex (where the lines meet) of the angle you are measuring.
- Rotate (turn) the protractor so that the zero-line of the protractor lines up with one of the lines of the angle.
- Check the zero-line and vertex and readjust if needed.
- Read from the zero line and around, count the degrees carefully.
- Check using you knowledge of fractions

Angles on a straight line
Angles at a point
Learning Intention: Use my knowledge of angles at a point add together to equal to 360 degrees to find unknown angles.
Success Criteria: I can identify all the angles that add together to equal 360 degrees. I can add together all the known angles. I can subtract the total of the known angles from 360 which will equal the unknown angle. |
Circles, lines & Angle art
1. Use a compass to create several overlapping circles of different sizes. Now you will have different 'sections' created by the overlapping circles.
2. In each section, use a different line design/pattern. Use the images below for ideas.

Percentage discounts
Learning Intention: Calculate percentage discounts Success Criteria: I can convert between percentages, fractions and decimals. I can calculate 50% discount. I can calculate 25% discount. I can calculate 10% discount. Christmas Wish List Sale:
-On PicCollage, create a Christmas wish list with 4-6 items. -Each item must have it's price rounded to the nearest dollar amount. -Assign a different percentage discount to each item. You must use 50%, 25% and 10% off. - Make sure your name is on the wish list and photo sync to Miss Cheyne's computer. |

Four 4s
They say you can make all numbers between 1 and 100 by using four 4s and any operations. Let's see if it's possible!
Learning Intention: Make number sentences using four 4s that equal a target number. Success Criteria: I can write number sentences that equal the target number using four 4s and any operations. I can use BOMDAS to write our number sentences in the correct order. I can work cooperatively in my group and make sure everyone is sharing their ideas. I can use my growth mindset self-talk when faced with a challenge and encourage others to use their's. (This may take some time and effort. I can’t get it…. Yet. Every mistake is a step close the answer.) |
